East Cesar Chavez Book, St. Edward's University class project
Featured in the 2014 Sorin Oak Review, an annual literature and creative arts journal.
A book focused on the concept of nostalgia, prominent throughout the East Cesar Chavez neighborhood. Inspired by Shel Silverstein, I created child-like poems and illustrations based on the stories my classmates had told me about their experience walking around the neighborhood. This is a handmade, hardbound book complete with a watercolor wash effect on speckle tone paper with french folds, headbands, and Arrestox book cloth.
